Lots of Needs🤢🤮🤧🩼

Today we start John 5.

Proverbs gives words of wisdom.

John’s Gospel shows Jesus Christ living out wisdom.

 John 5:1-3

1 “After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

2 Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches.

3 In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed,”

 Insights:

v1 There is a feast. That means a lot of people are in Jerusalem to worship God.

v2 There is pool called Bethesda. That means, “house of mercy.”

v3 There are many sick & injured people gathered at the pool looking for mercy & healing. That means a lot of waiting, hoping & broken hearts.

Where can we go & find people needing help, mercy? Hospitals,

retirement homes, classrooms, our neighborhood, work place, church, schools: Everywhere!

Often I miss seeing needy people around me. More fun looking for the energetic winner. We cheer them on to victory. But a good team has young, scared, injured, distracted members that need attention more than the captain. The good coach, parent, boss, leader, also looks for the needy members of his group.
