Cost of Stolen Pleasure🪤

 Proverbs 5:9-14

9 Lest you give your honor to others, And your years to the cruel one;

10 Lest aliens be filled with your wealth, And your labors go to the house of a foreigner;

11 And you mourn at last, When your flesh and your body are consumed,

12 And say: “How I have hated instruction, And my heart despised correction!

13 I have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, Nor inclined my ear to those who instructed me!

14 I was on the verge of total ruin, In the midst of the assembly and congregation.”

Comments:

 The loving father now lists 9 things that will be lost through immorality:

1. Honor,v9

2. Years of life,v9

3. Wealth,v10

4. Years of labor,v10

5. Joy,v11

6. Health,v11

7. Respect for yourself,v12

8. Respect of instructors/coaches,v13

9. Respect of the crowds.v14.

 It’s not worth it. The pleasure of a moment is not worth loosing all these. A wise caring father knows and longs for his children not to lose any of these 9 things. They are precious parts of life. These are the things that a loving father wants for his children and he labors to give them such.

 He is not perfect and he knows that his children are not perfect either. So, repeatedly he urges them to take this matter seriously, for the effects are far reaching.
