HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETES - UNSANCTIONED EVENT

RMN respectfully adheres to the Colorado CHSAA Rules concerning our Who’s Bad event. 

We respectfully ask that all athletes, parents, and coaches adhere to these rules in order to protect the eligibility of your athletes for competition in Colorado High School Wrestling season and Postseason Championships.

ARTICLE 21 OUTSIDE COMPETITION/PRACTICE

2100.2 Players certified to participate as members of any high school sport team may compete on any other team, in any non-school activity or event in that sport during that sports season with the express written permission of the principal. Permission shall be granted if:
(a) the student’s class attendance is not compromised; and (b) the student is in good academic standing under the school’s activities policy applicable to all students.

2120. VIOLATION OUTSIDE COMPETITION RULE Any student who does so participate in violation of Bylaw 2100.2 shall be ineligible to participate in a specific or all interscholastic athletic activities for a period of time to be determined by the Commissioner.

2310.41 No faculty member or coach may have contact with any of his/her/their school’s athletes from December 24 through New Year's Day. Exception: Beginning December 28, winter sports programs may have practice (excluding Sundays), but may not compete in interscholastic scrimmages or competition.

WEIGH-IN GUIDELINES

WEIGHT Allowance:   12 and Under = +.2 lb, 13 and Above = +2.2 lb (Includes Singlet).

WEIGH-IN Procedure: All Wrestlers Please leave your straps for skin check.

  • Wear your wrestling gear (NFHS Rule 4.1)
    Wrestling singlet or a two-piece compression shirt and shorts without pockets.

  • NFHS UNIFORM GUIDELINES NFHS Rule 4.1: " All contestants wearing a one-piece singlet shall wear a suitable undergarment that completely covers the buttocks and groin area.

  • Female wrestlers wearing a one-piece singlet shall wear a sports bra that completely covers their breasts and minimizes the risk of exposure." (Rule 4.1.c)

Skin Condition:

  • Please go to Wrestling (nfhs.org) and download and print the current “NFHS wrestling skin lesion form”, have your doctor fill out and sign the form and then bring it to the weigh ins. The head official and trainer have the final say on whether a wrestler with a skin condition is allowed to compete.

  • Wrestlers are NOT allowed to perform weight loss activities anywhere in the weigh-in or mat area. To do so may jeopardize your participation in the event.

Time Periods - Age Groups:
8 and Under: 1-1-1
9 and Older and Open: 1.5-1.5-1.5
Consolations:
:30 Seconds cut off the first period only.

Proof of Age:
State issued BIRTH CERTIFICATE and current REPORT CARD is required in case of protest or if requested by Tournament Director(s).  The 18 & Under age group implies that you are a high school eligible wrestler. The fee to file an age group protest is $50 and will be refunded if protest prevails.

NOTE:  For Heavyweight Groups, the best attempt will be made to match the wrestlers without creating a safety issue.  As a general rule, we use 20% as a guideline for difference in weights.

Floor Pass: You can receive one free floor band for a team of five wrestlers or more WHO ARE PRE-REGISTERED. Wrestlers must be pre-registered under the same team name in order to qualify. Those that qualify for a free band must pick them up at weigh-ins, they will not be available at any other time. Teams who have less than five-wrestlers may purchase them. Up to (4) free Floor Passes are allowed. A Floor Pass cover admission, mat side privileges & coaching.
