The RUMBLE has developed into America's premier summer folkstyle national event with over 2000 wrestlers from all corners of the USA and Canada in attendance. It is a combination of dual championships and an individual championships held over three days at the Lansing Center in downtown Lansing, Michigan.
AWP caught up with the event director Rob Stehley to get his thoughts on this juggernaught:
Folks love the unique competition they will face but they love the idea of competing in the heart of Big Ten country in a venue adjacent to Michigan State University's Campus. The venue and downtown Lansing with MSU next door make it a destination event. Many teams are going off to explore what Michigan has to offer in the summertime after the tournament is completed.
The tournament is now heavily recruited as college coaches from all over now attend the event. This wasn't a goal but a result of the quality of competition that has been attained. Some kids looking to make an impression or a connection can do so right here. Colleges and Universities from the MAC, Big Ten, Ivy League among others will be here all weekend.
Information for the event can be found right here at the link below:
Michigan's State Capitol is 1 block from the competition venue
