Age & Weight

AGE DIVISIONS & WEIGHT GROUPS

WEIGHT ALLOWANCE: { 0.2 lbs. allowed for singlet } Weight allowance differs between tournaments – check the online tournament information.

Philosophy:  For all RMN Events, beginning November 1, 2019, boys and girls divisions will all be under the same guidelines. Therefore, divisions, awards and all procedures will be consistent for all participants. This means that boys and girls divisions will now be age-based.

Age Division Eligibility:  January 1st - The wrestler's age as of the first day of the new year.  This age applies as of the Monster Match for the wrestling season which overlaps the end of the year (November to June).  For D-Day on the Midway, Cosmic Clash and the Freak Show, a wrestler's age is determined by the date of the competition.

Special Awards:  Wrestler must be the Champion in a weight with a minimum of three (3) matches.  To be eligible for season special awards (belts), a wrestler's matches will only be counted within ONE weight class in a single qualifying age division.  (See Special Awards Section for specific requirements.)

Possible Combined Weights:   RMN Events reserves the right to combine weights.  IF the wrestlers also want to combine weights, we will do our best to accommodate them.  If weights are combined, RMN Events does not give 1st Place award to a wrestler who is moved to next weight.  Wrestlers must take 1st Place in their respective weight class in order to receive a 1st Place award.

Dual Tournaments:  Unless otherwise noted on the individual tournament page, boys and girls dual tournaments will use the same weight classes and divisions listed below.

BOYS DIVISION

NOTE:  For Heavyweight Groups, the best attempt will be made to match the wrestlers without creating a safety issue.  As a general rule, we use 20% as a guideline for difference in weights.
